Powerboat Level 2 (PB2)
A two-day course to get to grips with powerboat handling.
Provides the skills and background knowledge needed by the competent powerboat driver and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence. It aims to teach boat handling and seamanship in powerboats. It focuses on low speed close quarters handling, man overboard recovery, an introduction to driving at planing speed, and collision regulations. The course can be taken at an inland or coastal location. It may be conducted in a variety of boat types, both planing and displacement. The certificate issued will be endorsed to show the type of boat in which the training took place.

What You’ll Learn:
Launching and recovery, boat handling, securing to a buoy, anchoring, leaving and comiing alongside, man overboard/person in water & the International Regulations for the Prevention of Collision at Sea (IRPCS).
Predominately practical but with some classroom elements.

No experience required. May be proceeded by Level 1 Start Powerboating.

Minimum age 12 (candidates under the age of 16 will be issued with an endorsed certificate)

All our courses are available on a one to one basis, where one of our trainers will guide you through the regular course.
Direct Assessment
Direct assessment is available for Powerboat Level 2 on a one to one basis under the guidance of the chief instructor.
