Recognised as a Royal Yachting Association Training Centre, based in Littlehampton, West Sussex. Phoenix Sea School provide Powerboat and Personal Watercraft practical courses and other RYA shore-based theoretical and practical courses. All courses operating out of Littlehampton Marina.
All of our instructors are RYA certified to the highest standards.
Our Team
Mark is the Principal and Founder of Phoenix Sea School. He has extensive marine experience in a variety of different crafts and has worked with several other schools and teaching establishments over the years.
Tim retired from the fire service after 31 years and amongst other things, now spends much of his time on the water, including sailing, canoeing and water skiing. Tim has been powerboating for over 25 years and teaching powerboat levels for 10 years and takes great pleasure in helping people gain confidence and competence in powerboats.
Aaron started his passion with boating over 25 years ago, initially as a diving instructor but most recently taking to the waters in North America and in the UK.
Steve found his real love for the water after retiring when he fulfilled his life long dream of owning a boat become real. Having moved to the coast over 7 years ago, he’s wasted no time in getting stuck in and establishing new skills.
Glen has experience as an inshore lifeboat crewman and has spent the last 30 years in the emergency services, Glen has a passion for helping others. He also has a background in teaching and coaching so ensuring that learning is a positive process is key for him.
He’s now getting back to his origins and love for the water. Glen believes that the most effective way to learn and refresh skills is in a relaxed informative environment . He says “there’s nothing more satisfying than to see people achieve their goals”. At Phoenix Sea School, his aim is to see that achieved.
Mark, for the past 15 years has been working as a recovery diver for the emergency services where he gained his boating qualifications, including RYA VHF radio instructor and examiner. Mark is currently the lead instructor for our SRC Courses here at Pheonix Sea School.

Tom has had a life-long love of the sea and marine activities having spent his summers as a boy on the south coast staying with his grandparents in Selsey messing around in boats! He quickly progressed to sailing dinghies in his teens and then on to wakeboarding and diving as an adult.
Toms a qualified powerboat level 1 and 2, PWI and safety boat instructor. He is also our chief PWI instructor at PSS.
